Following a request from Compass Minerals in Cheshire to demonstrate a KANE AUTO600 Smokemeter on one of their “Machines”, KANE Automotive Sales Manager, Martin O’Dea & Operations Director, Jonathan Hoole went on a journey over 500ft under the Cheshire countryside to one of the worlds largest rock salt mines.
Compass Minerals produces salt, plant nutrients and magnesium chloride. They also provide secure records storage in a retired mine “DeepStore” in the U.K.
The machine in question was a 100 ton Komatsu loader with a 20 ton bucket capacity, that required an emissions check to ensure it was within specified limits.
The portability and ease of use of the KANE AUTO600 made it ideal for doing a test (similar to the current UK MOT smoke emission test) in these difficult conditions.
