Irish MEP Sean Kelly recently hosted a European Union Parliament event on decarbonisation, sponsored by EHI, the European Boiler & Heat Pump manufacturers association.
Mr Kelly supports net zero, stopping appliances emitting CO2 & CO, the “silent killer” you cannot see or smell.
However, too many homes are "Hard to Heat " (over 10 million in UK), making heat pumps too costly - They need a heat pump & boiler hybrid system working together to reduce CO2 emissions by 80%.
Consequently, Mr Kelly thanked EHI for sponsoring the event but added they must follow best practice and require member manufacturers to add a generic log book installers & service engineers use to properly record test results afterwards.
He highlighted the UK introduced its log book and saw CO deaths fall by nearly 90%.
We fully support MEP Sean Kelly and ask EHI to introduce this simple, no cost solution to stop EU citizens being at risk of CO poisoning - if you agree, please email EHI at: [email protected]
